Schools
Value Proposition
We see Kopitiam discussions as a means of creating a greater awareness of self and of societal issues amongst students. The in-depth research combined with the external perspectives provided by the facilitators and guest speakers allow students to see education as a lifelong process that is beyond the confines of the classroom or the school.
For teachers and school administrators, Kopitiam hopes to take over some of the burden of planning, organising and facilitating interesting discussions for students with external guest speakers and facilitators. While we organise these sessions, schools still retain the control over the selection of topics and speakers, and can even customise some aspects of the format according to their needs. We can also provide classroom material to teachers for discussions outside of the Kopitiam Format to suit their syllabus.
Kopitiam also aims to provide schools and students with a supportive network of individuals willing to share their experiences in life, consisting of Kopitiam members, participants, and guest speakers. Facilitators and guest speakers could also become unofficial mentors or advisors to students where feasible.
Partnerships
We are actively seeking partnerships with schools interested in exploring the Kopitiam discussion format as an educational tool. Using informed and engaging discussions tailored for students as a basic building block, our school partnership programs can deliver customised benefits. Kopitiam discussions are modular in nature and can be designed as a complementary add-on to current school enrichment programs (such as community service projects, creative learning programs, or co-curricular activities) or as an alternative platform to traditional classroom learning.
If you think your school might be keen to explore a partnership with Kopitiam, please drop us an email at info@kopitiam.org.
